Alfons Miettinen joins GRS Team for the 2026 Spanish F4 Championship
Alfons Miettinen will compete in the 2026 Spanish F4 Championship with GRS Team. The 16-year-old Finnish driver will race car #83 across the seven rounds of the championship, between April and November 2026.
The announcement closes one of the most unexpected weeks of Alfons’s career. After spending 2025 racing KZ2 karting at world level — including the World Championship in Franciacorta and a P14 in the WSK Final Cup — the original 2026 plan was to continue in KZ. A two-day F4 test in Valencia in November 2025 changed everything: the lap times suggested single-seaters were the right next step, and ten days before the season opener, the GRS seat became available.
“We had to decide fast,” Alfons says. “The KZ plan made sense, but when you get an opportunity like this you don’t say no. The Valencia test felt natural. F4 is a different car but the basics are the same — find the limit and stay there.”
GRS Team, based in Paterna near Valencia, has competed in the Spanish F4 Championship since 2023 and ran the full 2025 season. Alfons joins as one of two full-season drivers for 2026, alongside Pablo Riccobono.
The 2026 Spanish F4 calendar runs across seven rounds: Valencia, Algarve (Portugal), Aragón, a round to be confirmed in August, Jerez, Navarra, and Barcelona to close the season in November.
