Returning from the summer break, Alfons Miettinen faced a learning weekend at the fourth round of the Spanish F4 Championship at Jarama, in which he put to good use the limited green flag racing to stay consistent and continue his upwards trajectory in his rookie season.

Following a two-month summer break, Alfons Miettinen returned to the Spanish F4 Championship and series mainstay GRS Team at Jarama to continue his first season in the championship on high spirits after a promising first three rounds of the year.

With no prior testing at the venue, Alfons headed into a new type of challenge, as he was forced to learn the track over a two-day weekend, contrary to the usual three-day format.

At the beginning of on-track action on Saturday, the young Finn began to get to grips with the Madrid-based track, but a difficult first qualifying session of the weekend saw him on the backfoot for race one. In the only race of the day, Alfons steadily clawed his way up the order amid various safety car interventions, but his progress was halted in the closing stages when a collision with another driver took him out of contention.

Motivated to make the most out of an intensive weekend, Alfons endured a difficult second qualifying session on Sunday morning, but made positive progress in the second race of the weekend, climbing up positions in another safety car-filled race to finish 30th.

The third and final race of the weekend was a similar story, as Alfons made his way through the field during the handful of green flag laps to cross the finish line in 26th place, as he battled technical issues towards the end of the race.

A learning weekend for Alfons, who looks to turn his fortunes around next month at the fifth round of the 2026 Spanish F4 Championship, on 26–27 September at Circuito de Jerez.
